Freestyle Disco Gymnastic Dance
Freestyle Disco is a high-energy, expressive dance style that blends jazz technique with gymnastics, flexibility, body movement, and dynamic elements such as spins, kicks, leaps, and jumps. Although fast-paced by nature, it can be performed at a variety of speeds — including slow, controlled routines.
Freestyle Disco encourages children to throw themselves into dance with enthusiasm and confidence. Alongside improving technique, it builds posture, performance skills, and self-belief. One of our own Freestyle Teams, Flamboyant, even performed on Sky One’s Got To Dance! Check out their audition and come join the fun!
We compete in both IDTA syllabus competitions and ADFP competitions:
- ADFP competitions are divided by age and ability. Dancers progress through categories by placing in finals and “dropping lives.”
- IDTA competitions are organised by age and medal grade, based on the IDTA exams taken. (IDTA exams are only required for the IDTA Medalist of the Year competition — all other competitions are open without them.)
Competitions offer children incredible opportunities to grow in confidence. Some dancers compete regularly, while others join in whenever they choose — the choice is completely yours. Over time, students form a true dance family, cheering each other on and building friendships that last a lifetime.
